Introduction to Management
When you study Management at MCC, you’ll focus on how organizations use strategies to compete domestically and globally in an increasingly complex social, political, economic and technological environment. You will learn about finance, marketing, human resources, economics, law and computers. All of these competencies are needed in industry, non-profit and service organizations.
The Management degree provides the framework for successful management careers in high-tech industries, manufacturing, banking and finance, healthcare, communications, service industries and non-profit organizations. You will be encouraged to relate theoretical learning to practice and establish bridges between the classroom and the workplace.

Program Goals
The Management degree program will prepare you for transfer to a 4-year college or university with a solid management and overall business studies foundation. You will also be prepared for employment in an entry-level management position.

Accreditation
The Business Department’s Associate Degree in Management, Accounting, Business Communications, Business Studies and Marketing are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). ACBSP is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Our national accreditation allows our graduates to transfer to four-year colleges and universities in all regions of the country.
Admissions Requirements
Applicants for admission to the Management degree program must comply with general college admission requirements and must also provide a High School Transcript or participate in an interview with an MCC Admissions Counselor.
There are no other specific program admissions requirements.

Human Resource Management Certificate
The Human Resource Management certificate gives you the foundational skills you need to start your degree or begin a career in HR. This certificate is a building block to a Management A.S. degree at MCC and will prepare you to continue your education at the bachelor degree level if desired. It allows you to enter the workforce in an entry-level HRM position or, if you are already employed, allows you to demonstrate proficiency in HR to potentially advance at work.
Management Certificate
You can earn your Management certificate 100% online if you’d like! This certificate will prepare you for entry-level positions in the field or help you advance your business career. It also serves as a building block to the Management A.S. degree.
Small Business Management Certificate
This Small Business Management certificate teaches the student to set up and manage a business. It will cover all aspects of running a business from creating a successful business plan, setting up and maintaining the books, hiring and managing employees, to promoting the business.
This certificate is designed for the technical trade person or small business owner who has the technical skills and now wants to learn how to run the business. Courses may also be transferred into the Management A.S. degree.
