Introduction to Behavioral Science
The Behavioral Science degree program at MCC offers a comprehensive curriculum in psychology and sociology, and provides a solid foundation in general education, which allows you to discover and explore academic interests while earning credits for future transfer into a baccalaureate program.
Aligning with the curriculum of most 4-year institutions, the Behavioral Science Associate of Arts degree program includes courses typically required during the first two years of study for a Bachelor of Arts degree in Behavioral Science. Through a variety of theoretical and practical applications, courses focus on how underlying concepts, theories and principles affect human behavior and societal systems. If you are planning to pursue a 4-year degree in psychology, sociology or the human/social service disciplines, this degree is for you!

Program Goals
The Behavioral Science degree offers a comprehensive behavioral science foundation to provide you with a theoretical basis for future study. Aligning with coursework offered at 4-year institutions, the Behavioral Science program provides courses in psychology and sociology as well as courses typically required for the first two years of a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Behavioral Science.
Curriculum
Admissions Requirements
When applying for admission to the Behavior Science degree program you must:
- Comply with general college admission requirements.
- Provide a High School transcript or participate in an interview with an MCC Admissions Counselor.
There are no other specific program admissions requirements.
Incoming Transfer Policy
Courses will be considered for transfer to the Behavioral Science program under the following conditions:
- Introduction to Psychology and Introduction to Sociology must be completed no more than 10 years prior to acceptance into the Behavioral Science program.
- Exceptions to the 10-year maximum time frame for Introduction to Psychology and Introduction to Sociology may be granted at the discretion of the Department Chair.
- The Behavioral Science Capstone must be taken at MCC. Transfer credit will not be awarded.
