MCC’s Max Jovanovich is a Semifinalist for Prestigious Jack Kent Cooke Foundation’s Transfer Scholarship
MANCHESTER, NH – Max Jovanovich of Grantham, NH is among the semifinalists for the highly competitive Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship. Max will graduate this summer with an associate degree in Computer Science and Innovation from Manchester Community College (MCC).
Beginning his studies at MCC in 2023, Max said the CCSNH Promise Program scholarship made his first two years of college affordable and left him with zero debt as he heads to a four-year college or university in the fall. “Scholarships can really open doors to opportunities. My experience at MCC has been more than I’d imagined – the faculty and other students have inspired me and I’m excited to transfer and pursue my bachelor’s degree in computer science,” Max said.
A member of Phi Theta Kappa honor society and active on campus in the Student Senate and the Campus Activities Board, he also volunteers as a firefighter in Grantham and is a member of the Lebanon Rotary Club.
There are 467 semifinalists for the Jack Kent Cooke scholarship program, which aims to help community college students who have demonstrated exceptional academic ability, leadership, and service transfer to top four-year institutions and avoid student debt. The award, which is last dollar funding after all institutional aid, can provide as much as $55,000 per year for two to three years to complete a bachelor’s degree at any accredited four-year undergraduate institution in the U.S.
The 467 semifinalists were chosen from a pool of more than 1,600 applicants and attend 212 community colleges in 43 states. The rigorous selection process assesses candidates on their exceptional academic ability and achievement, demonstrated financial need, perseverance, and leadership.
