Nursing and Healers, the Role of Women in Literature and Art Highlight Spring 2022 MCC Humanities Courses
Current events and ongoing national conversations inform many of this semester’s Humanities courses at Manchester Community College. Join us to broaden your horizons and develop new critical thinking skills. For example:
In “A Study in Female Agency”, students will answer: In what ways do authors restrict and/or promote a female character power and heroism? What characteristics exemplify a heroic woman in literary works?
These classes will challenge and inspire and offer both historic and current viewpoints to encourage inquisitive minds to explore our world through a search “for answers in history, literature, music, poetry, art, social media, and journalism from the 17th century to the present, while suspending judgement in favor of understanding based in knowledge”. MCC’s Humanities courses are offered in the spirit of open-minded learning in a safe environment, while challenging students’ perceptions and beliefs through conversation of history and current events and ideas shared through the eyes of writers, artists and contributors to our nation’s narrative.
