Colleen R. Jennings is an MCC Professor, Liberal Arts Department Chair and Interim Vice President of Academic Affairs. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Communication from the University of New Hampshire, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. The Communications Department and English Program both awarded Colleen their highest academic honors, the Wilburn Sims Award and the Alice Mitchell Award respectively. Colleen continued her education at the University of New Hampshire where she completed her Master of Arts degree in English with a concentration in Poetry in May 2004 and taught College Composition as a Graduate Instructor. Her Master’s thesis won the Daniel Morin Poetry prize for excellence in graduate poetry. Colleen served as an Area Coordinator, Director, and Assistant Director of Residence Life at Roanoke College, Saint Anselm College, and Green Mountain College respectively where she also taught English. Colleen has also instructed English and Communications courses for Southern New Hampshire University, Granite State College, and designed a community-service-based First Year Seminar at the University of New Hampshire Manchester. Colleen has taught in the Community College System of New Hampshire since 2008. Her classroom experience includes College Composition I and II, Creative Writing, Literature, and Developmental Reading and Writing courses. In January 2014 Colleen completed her Master of Fine Arts, the terminal degree in Creative Writing, at Southern New Hampshire University in Nonfiction.
