July 21, 2022

Manchester Community College has been selected to participate in the newly launched AI Incubator Network, a partnership between Intel, Dell Technologies and the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC.) The initiative is designed to build AI incubators in community colleges across the country.

The AI Incubator Network and AI for Workforce programs include 67 community colleges in 30 states collaborating on AI curriculum, teaching best practices and lab development. The Network supports the demand for higher education AI technical and literacy skills, recruits educators at community colleges to join the AI Incubator Network, and expands Intel’s AI for Workforce program by supporting them with the tools they need to teach AI courses.

“AI has become an increasingly important focus for community colleges as providers of workforce education for multiple industries,” said Dr. Walter G. Bumphus, president and CEO of AACC. “Working together with peers and across sectors will enhance the ability of our colleges to advance and scale this curriculum across the nation to ensure that students earn the skills needed to fill these jobs and begin meaningful careers.”

Currently MCC incorporates AI into its cybersecurity classes and plans to expand AI programs in the future.
