MCC Power Sports Scholarships Awarded

April 30, 2025
George and Barbara Mullin awarded the Scott M. Mullin Memorial Scholarships to four students who will complete their Power Sports certificates this summer at Manchester Community College (MCC). Three of the recipients — Charlton Batchelder, Gabriel Margeson, and Isaac Swanson — met with the Mullins today at MCC. Some of the students are already applying what they’ve learned: Isaac is working at Motorcycles of Manchester, and Roman Quagliaroli (not pictured) is working at HK Powersports.

The Mullins opened Souhegan Valley Motorsports in 2005, prompted by their son Scott’s entrepreneurial spirit and passion for motorcycles. They established the scholarship fund in his memory after Scott died in a racing accident in 2021 when he was only 38-years-old.
“When Scott was in college, there were not any power sports programs, so he had to figure it out on his own, Barabara Mullin said. Adding, “Once we started the business and recognized the need for a larger pool of skilled technicians, he took the initiative to work with MCC to recruit and was always more than willing to talk to students.”

George Mullin emphasized to the scholarship recipients that “industry really needs you” and wished them luck with their future endeavors.

The Scott M. Mullin Memorial Scholarship is an endowed fund held at The Foundation for New Hampshire Community Colleges. The Mullins organize an annual motorcycle ride to continue raising funds for the MCC scholarship. This year’s ride will be on Sunday, August 3, 2025.
