Overview
Interested in working one-on-one or with small groups of clients within various human services agencies? The Direct Support Services certificate prepares you for an entry-level job supporting people with developmental disabilities, aiding those in recovery or suffering from substance misuse, assisting veteran or elderly populations, working in mental health, or providing child and family services.
The certificate prepares you with the educational background and human services exposure you’ll need to become a Direct Support Services worker. It is ideal if you are interested in a human services career but are not yet working in the field, or if you are working in the field without a formal education. The certificate is also a building block for the Human Services degree program.
